Video Production: ActiveOps x TeamGB Rugby 7s

The project: video production services

We met ActiveOps through our venue partner, BAFTA 195 and are now supporting the team across all of their Event Production, including Event Filming, Video Production, and Live Streaming.

ActiveOps is the sponsor of TeamGB for the 2024 Olympics and wanted a range of social media video content to be produced to launch the partnership as well as generate leads for their upcoming Capacity 2024 event, in which several Olympic athletes are speaking.

What the social video production project entailed

On a bank holiday Sunday, our team joined TeamGB Rugby 7s on their last training camp weekend ahead of Olympic selection. Our team for the project consisted of two Videographers, a Drone Pilot, a Lead Producer, Video Editor and Project Manager.

ActiveOps provided a comprehensive brief with seven key areas for shots as well as scripts. From this, we designed a shot list for the day, aligned with the schedule of the players in order to fit all the filming we needed between training sessions. Our design team designed digital assets, such as lower thirds ready for post-production.

On the day, we interviewed 10 people which included players and ActiveOps and TeamGB Rugby staff. We also captured b roll from the training day, drone footage, and content for speaker announcements to promote the Capacity 2024 event.

We set out a delivery schedule with staggered releases of the content over five weeks, which kicked off with the promotional video to launch and communicate the partnership between ActiveOps and TeamGB. Following that we released the conference speaker announcements, player and staff interviews, and shorter clips for use in the run-up to and during the Olympics to maintain the hype.

In addition to editing the footage we captured, our Video Editor also produced one speaker announcement from externally captured footage to promote the Capacity 2024 event during the Olympics.

All of the video outputs were optimised for ActiveOps’ social media channels and served to increase awareness of the partnership and the ActiveOps brand and to generate interest and leads for the Capacity 2024 event.
