Financial Times Live Bespoke Studio in Davos 2026
For the second year running, we collaborated with the FT Live team at the World Economic Forum to design and...
The London Defence Conference 2026 brought together senior military leaders, policymakers, security experts and defence industry figures at a time when defence and national resilience were dominating headlines across the UK and Europe. Hosted in central London, close to both the Ministry of Defence and Downing Street, the venue choice reflected the strategic importance and growing profile of the event.
With Sky News acting as an official media partner, broadcasting interviews and coverage from the conference throughout the day, the event attracted national attention and featured many discussions around evolving global security challenges.
For this year’s event, the client significantly expanded the scale of the event production to reflect the growing profile and reach of the London Defence Conference. Having partnered with the event for multiple years, we were excited to deliver an even more polished experience for both in-person attendees and remote audiences.
Alongside the live production and technical delivery, our design team was tasked with creating a bespoke branded backdrop featuring an integrated rear-screen projection for content playback. The design needed to feel premium and understated, balancing strong event branding with a style that suited the focus of the conference.
With multiple production elements operating simultaneously, seamless integration across every department was essential. The projected visuals needed to support presentation content and branded graphics throughout the event, while the livestream production managed all camera feeds and on-screen visuals for the online audience, including lower thirds, video playback and session graphics. At the same time, the AV team ensured consistent sound and lighting coverage across the venue and broadcast feed, while the camera crew captured multiple live angles for real-time mixing and streaming through vMix.
To ensure the in-room AV experience worked seamlessly alongside the live stream, our teams collaborated across video, audio and streaming to create a setup that supported both the live audience and remote viewers.
The production was designed to support keynote presentations, panel discussions and media coverage throughout the day, while maintaining a broadcast-quality finish across every element of the event.
Rear screen projection
At the centre of the stage design was a large-format rear screen projection setup used for event visuals, presentation content and live camera feeds. Rear projection ensured visuals remained clear and uninterrupted without shadows or obstructions on stage, while also keeping technical equipment hidden for a cleaner, more premium stage aesthetic. The flexibility of projection also allowed the setup to adapt quickly if needed without compromising image quality.
Filming and camera set-up
Our video team delivered a multi-camera setup feeding directly into the livestream engineer’s vMix workflow, allowing live camera angles to be mixed in real time, creating a far more engaging experience for online viewers.
Audio
Audio played a key role across the event, with distributed speakers installed throughout the venue alongside additional foyer audio for background music and voice-of-god announcements. All microphones were integrated into both the in-room sound system and live stream feed, ensuring clear and consistent audio delivery for every audience.
